Difference Between 2005 And 2009 GMC Denali Model

The 2005 GMC Denali is GMC’s version of the General Motors SUVs along with Chevrolet and Cadillac nameplates. But now, their latest addition is the 2009 GMC Denali. The 2009 Denali has a muscular form and wide firmly planted stance gives it an aura of confident road presence. Minimal overhangs, large wheels, sleek headlamps and a low roof profile deliver an aggressive and performance-oriented appearance.

Unlike the 2009 GMC Denali, the 2005 Denali has a V8 engine capable with a 325 horsepower and a 370-lb/ft torque. This engine power though is a bit low as you can only drive at 12 mpg around the city and 16 mpg on the highway.

Unlike the 2005 GMC Denali, the 2009 GMC Denali is capable of 326 horsepower. The 2009 GMC Denali has a two-mode hybrid system that is combined with an E-85 ethanol capable engine. Its fuel content consists of 85% ethanol and just 15% gas. It has a 4.9L SIDI engine, with Active Fuel Management powers, making it more fuel-efficient.

Unlike the 2005 model which uses the GM’s quadrasteer 4-wheel steering. A design that reduces turning cycle at low speeds and enhances stability at higher speeds and during towing. The 2009 GMC Denali uses a 4-link suspension design for its steering wheel. A design that uses coil over shocks and has a decoupled stabilizer bar that enhances cowering control. This design can also lessen body roll and maximize longitudinal compliance. Allowing this car to haul cargo on twisting roads.

The concept of a unibody structure of the 2009 Denali gave it a truck platform. It even has a payload capacity of 1100 pounds and a 3500 pounds capacity for towing. The stiffness of this model is greater than most conventional body on frame trucks, which gives it a 4-wheel independent suspension mounting point. Allowing this car to have a performance feel on the road.

The 2005 Denali has 3-rows of seats that can accommodate up to nine persons. But the third row can be easily folded, flipped, slides or removed to suits your needs. It even has an adjustable second row bucket seat that offers an excellent support. Whereas the 2009 Denali only has two rows of seats but the midgate can be opened. So the second row seats can be folded to accommodate in the bed something longer like skis or surfboards.

The 2005 Denali is a car that looks like a Tahoe while the 2009 model is a hybrid between the suburban and the pick up at the back. Choosing between the two models depends on what you want and need.
